The England Football Charity exists to harness the power of football for the good of society. We carry out our work through effective collaboration, fundraising, grant-making and performance monitoring of programmes that utilise football to drive change.
As society changes, our focus changes. Our priority now is to help young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs) to gain the skills they need to achieve the future they want. The England Football Charity is supported by, but independent from, The Football Association (The FA), which recognises the wider impact that football can have beyond pure participation.
We have chosen to focus on helping NEETS gain the skills they need to achieve the future they want not only because it is a huge problem but also because we believe football can make a significant difference.
The scale of the issue is stark:
We believe that football has an extraordinary power to deliver positive change to some of the hardest-to-reach groups in society. As the national game and most played team sport in England, we think that football has the ability to engage these people in our country like no other sport can.
We work with partners – individuals, charities or businesses - who have a proven track record of success, an established engagement with target beneficiaries, and a deep knowledge of delivering football-based activities effectively. We ensure our partners are aligned with our purpose and values and adhere to the high standards we apply to everything we do.
We focus on outcomes and impact as we know how important it is to quantify the benefits of our work. This is not only good governance but also helps to establish and share best practises.
If you are an individual, charity, or business and are interested in partnering with us to help NEETs, through football, to gain the skills they need to achieve the future they want, please contact us on hello@englandfootballcharity.com
